Requirements & Skills

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Wisconsin.
• Proven experience working as an Operating Room (OR) RN.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and surgical procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Prepare the operating room by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining aseptic technique.
• Monitor patient condition and vital signs throughout the surgical process and intervene as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient information accurately and timely in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control policies at all times.

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Wisconsin.
• Prior experience as an OR Nurse or perioperative nursing preferred.
• Completion of accredited nursing education program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
