Requirements and Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska
  • Proven experience or training in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or critical care setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
  • Ability to operate and interpret data from advanced medical equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Monitor patient conditions continuously and respond promptly to changes
  • Administer medications, IVs, and perform treatments as prescribed
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians and therapists, to implement individualized care plans
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in medical records
  • Educate patients and their families regarding care plans and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
  • Minimum of one year ICU experience strongly preferred
  • Active Nebraska RN license in good standing
  • Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
