Requirements & Skills

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Proven experience in Medical-Surgical nursing and care in a General Care Unit (GCU)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical GCU
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor patient conditions continuously
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed within the scope of nursing practice
• Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about their care, treatments, and post-discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols at all times
• Identify potential complications and escalate care appropriately to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska
• Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a Medical-Surgical nursing role preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $62.00 - $73.00
