Requirements & Skills

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nebraska
  • Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in maternal and neonatal care
  • Ability to monitor fetal well-being and manage labor progress effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide compassionate patient- and family-centered care
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) documentation and healthcare technology
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively to emergencies in the L&D unit

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
  • Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and condition throughout labor and delivery process
  • Assist physicians and midwives during delivery procedures and emergency interventions
  • Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care practices
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality outcomes
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients in the L&D unit

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Nebraska
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications preferred
  • Prior Labor & Delivery nursing experience or relevant clinical rotations highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical nursing standards

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly rate: $77.00 - $91.00 per hour
