Requirements and Skills

• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential
• Experience in inpatient clinical dietetics and patient nutrition assessment
• Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy and dietary protocols
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and educate patients
• Ability to chart accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
• Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a Dietitian in Minnesota

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for inpatient populations
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on medical diagnoses and patient needs
• Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as necessary
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
• Provide education to patients and families about dietary modifications, nutritional therapies, and health maintenance
• Document nutrition care and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record system
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Current state licensure or eligibility to become licensed as a Dietitian in Minnesota
• Prior experience in an inpatient hospital setting highly desirable
• Proficient with electronic medical records and nutrition analysis software

Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $57.00 to $67.00, commensurate with experience.
