Requirements & Skills

• Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota
• Proven clinical experience in Obstetrics (OB) and Labor & Delivery (L&D) nursing
• Strong assessment and clinical judgment skills related to maternal and newborn health
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with a variety of monitoring and delivery equipment
• Flexibility to adapt to changing clinical needs and emergent situations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
• Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vital signs continuously and respond appropriately to changes
• Assist physicians and midwives during delivery and related procedures
• Educate patients and families about prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with clinical guidelines
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Minnesota
• Experience or certification in OB/Labor & Delivery nursing preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to provide empathetic patient care
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
